TECHNOLOGY

ortho trios

The team at Drs. Rapoport & Lasry are proud to offer our patients the highest quality dental care. In order to offer our patients both the best experience and treatment outcomes we have invested heavily into the latest technologies in dentistry. With the help of our cutting-edge technology, we can provide the most accurate diagnoses possible and execute our treatments with your comfort and safety as a primary goal. We can use our technologies to augment treatments in multiple areas of dentistry including implant placement and restoration, orthodontics and Invisalign, esthetics and much more.

Intraoral camera

showing scan

The intraoral camera is a technology that is greatly appreciated by our dental team as well as our patients. It consists of a wand with a small camera at the end. We use this wand to capture a digital imprint of our patients mouths that is highly accurate. In a matter of minutes we can capture a precise reconstruction of the teeth and gums that is exact in dimension and color. This enables us the opportunity to develop a well-informed treatment plan, but also to enhance communication with our patients as well as our labs. This method replaces the traditional impression taken with trays and putty, thus enhances patient experience and comfort.

What are the advantages of using an intraoral camera?

implant planning

  • The intraoral camera minimizes patient’s time in the chair
  • It is very advantageous for patient comfort, especially those who gag easily
  • The camera’s software allows us to choose the most accurate color for a planned restoration
  • A digital workflow allows the dentist full control over the design of a planned restoration, including the occlusion, the contours, the thickness etc.
  • Improved diagnostic abilities due to the precise reconstruction of the mouth
  • Offers the patient the ability to visualize their own mouth and thus be at the centre of treatment decisions

3D printer

3D printer

3D printing has entered the field of dentistry. We are proud to have acquired a 3D printer in our clinic for every day use. Combined with the use of our intraoral camera, we print highly accurate models and implant surgical guides. The implant surgical guides that we 3D print allow us to combine the intraoral scan of the patient’s mouth with a CT scan x-ray in order to design and execute the ideal implant position for each patient. The 3D printer also allows us to print orthodontic models that allows us to create a digital braces setup for better control over treatment outcomes. This technology also facilitates the fabrication of trays for bleaching or as retainers, all from our clinic within a matter of hours.
